Kent Seeger

Kent Lindsey Seeger (Nutsy), born March 26, 1949 to Paul and Lavonne Lindsey Seeger, passed away Aug. 16, 1993, St. Benedict's Hospital due to complications brought on by a brain aneurysm. He graduated from Davis High School, to then serve in the Air Force Reserves. Kent and Beverly were wed in 1973.Kent will be greatly missed by the many he has touched over his forty-four short, but very full years. Loyal to the ideals instilled in him as an Eagle Scout, Kent tried and most times succeeded to satisfy all things desired of him, in both business and personal dealings, as well as fulfill what he expected of himself. Craftsmen of earned reputations, Kent and his elder brother, Bill, founded the Liberty Valley Log Company, from which they have housed many in unique hand-hewn log homes. His zest for living was contagious, infecting endless numbers of people seeking the same serenity he found in the freedom of rural life. Being an avid mountain biker, mountaineer, and first member of the Nordic Valley Ski patrol, placed Kent in the heart of the mountain he loved so much, surrounding himself with loved ones such as those that were with him in his last hours. His loyalty to family and friends was well rooted in his unwavering belief in Christ. Kent embodied the spirit of service. Partner and friend, Kent loved and respected his wife, Beverly, and she him: the two were an inspiration to all that knew them. The family would like to convey a special thanks to all in the St. Benedict's ICU, and to one Sister Virgene. Kent is survived by his wife, Beverly Warne Seeger; Jenifer Seeger-Wagner, daughter of first wife, Judy Driggs Smith; two brothers, Bill and Tony, stepmother, Marjorie (Sissy); two stepsisters, Karen Edson and Frita Manish; two stepbrothers, Kurt and Albert Becker; nephew, Jimmy Seeger; and two nieces, Stacey Seeger and Jody Seeger Coy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lavonne, father, Paul, one brother, Darrel and one niece, Kristen Seeger Munsen. A special thanks to his stepmother, Sissy, who raised Kent from the age of six to appreciate the beauty they often enjoyed together in the mountains above East Layton. Friends are invited to the service being held in his honor, Friday, 4 p.m. at Snowberry Inn Bed and Breakfast in Eden, 1315 North Hwy 162. Cremation under the direction of Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary. T 8/19 N 8/19
